ASTM A252 Spiral Submerged Arc Welded (SSAW) Carbon Steel Pipe

ASTM A252 SSAW carbon steel pipe is a large-diameter welded pipe manufactured through spiral submerged arc welding process for piling and structural applications. Unlike the ASTM A106 Gr B Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe designed for high-temperature fluid transmission, this SSAW pipe serves foundation engineering where large diameters and cost-effectiveness matter most .

Wall thickness: 5mm to 40mm. Common thicknesses: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 25mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 36mm, and 40mm .

Length: 6 meters, 12 meters standard, with custom lengths from 3 meters to 70 meters available .

Processing technique: Spiral Submerged Arc Welding (SSAW) where steel strip forms into a spiral shape and welding occurs on both inner and outer surfaces . Execution standards: ASTM A252, API 5L, EN 10217, SY/T 5037, and GB/T 9711 . Packaging: Seaworthy bundles with steel strips, waterproof wrapping, beveled end protectors, and wooden frames for large diameters. Surface treatment: Black bare, oiled, varnish painting, FBE coating, 3LPE coating, bitumen coating, galvanized, or as requested .
