Oriented silicon steel features a controlled grain structure where crystals align in the rolling direction. Non-oriented silicon steel has a random grain distribution, providing uniform magnetic properties in all directions.

Magnetic Properties:
Oriented silicon steel offers high permeability and low core loss along the rolling direction, with magnetic flux density reaching up to 1.88T. Non-oriented silicon steel is isotropic, offering moderate permeability with relatively higher core loss around 1.65T.

Primary Applications:
